MAKE IT PLAIN

Image
…Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Habakkuk 2:2). A lot comes with the New Year when people decide on their respective New Year resolutions and all. Looking back at what they were unable to achieve in the past year(s) and what their mates are achieving that they’ve not been able to achieve, it tends to make one nervous and thereby causing fear and anxiety to set in. New years are not just for the fun of it, or just to count the numbers of years you have witnessed on earth but a time to reflect on the past and make plans for the future on how you can further impact your world. Setting visions and plans for the New Year is much more important than engaging in the New Year jamboree. However, plans are not to be made without running through them till the year runs to an end. The word of the Lord in the book of Habakkuk 2:2 weren’t just for the books but it states how much importance God places on putting your plans and aspirations into writi...

THE REAL JOY OF CHRISTMAS

Image
The angel announced the source of that joy to the shepherds on that first Christmas night: “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11). Even if you haven’t received Christ as your Saviour, you may have some good feelings at this season. It is a wonderful time of the year. It’s always good to be with family and friends, to enjoy good food, and to exchange gifts. But I’m talking about something different, something deeper. The true joy of Christmas lasts all year long. It is the abiding joy of knowing for certain that things are right between you and God. It is the contentment that comes from knowing that you have a hope that holds constant beyond the uncertainties of this life. That kind of lasting joy comes only to the one who has personally received God’s gift of the Saviour.   THE REAL JOY OF CHRISTMAS! ·...

I WANT EVERYTHING

Image
Human needs are insatiable; we’re just like Oliver Twist, always asking for more. No matter how many our assets or valuables are, we are never contended. One of the many reasons why the richest men of the world always expand the horizons of their investments just to rake in more profits. The many riches of the world are quite good for acquisition but beyond that, there’s something that is more precious and valuable that we need to pant more for; JESUS . Recall in the book of Romans 8:32, the Bible said “he that spared not his own son, but delivered him for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things”. So, tell me, what are the things you need that Jesus cannot give to you. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and every other things shall be added unto you” . These days rather, the reverse is the case. We run after the things of the world and neglect the one who can easily give to us all that we need whom we are to run after, and no matter how h...

THE MERCIES OF THE LORD.

Image
Often times, Christians stress themselves over what they cannot control, rather than leave it for God to handle. They seem to have forgotten how merciful God is. Many people tend to worry over their needs when all they needed to do was to entrust it with the merciful God who is able to deliver everything they wanted into their hands. Recall in the book of Romans 8:32, the Bible said “he that spared not his own son, but delivered him for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things”. The quoted Bible verse has shown us how merciful our God is. Are your needs more than the precious life of God’s only son, if your answer is no, why then bother yourself and not commit them into the hands of Him who is capable of delivering them to you. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” I Peter 5:7.   In that Bible verse, we can see the assurance of supply of all our needs by God. The same God promised us in Philippians 4:19 that he will supply all of...

YOU ARE CORRUPT!

Image
Corruption does not only begin or end at collecting bribes or asking for something in return before doing something or rendering services to someone. In this part of the world, we tend to pay and focus our attentions on monetary corruption alone whereas, moral corruption is the foundation and grandmaster of all forms of corruption. It is from moral corruption that all other forms of corruption emanate from. Once you’re morally corrupt, you’re sure to exhibit all other forms of corruption which includes monetary corruption, sexual corruption, and spiritual corruption e.t.c. Now, the big question is what is moral corruption? How do I know I’m morally corrupted? Let’s start from the definition of moral itself. Moral means conforming to a standard of right behaviour; sanctioned by operative on one’s conscience or ethical judgement . Here, we can see that being morally upright entails exhibiting the right behaviour, having good conscience and good judgemental sense, being noble, ...

WHOSE HANDS?

Image
A tennis racket in my hands is worthless but a tennis racket in the hands of Serena Williams is worth millions. A rod in my hands merely keeps a dog away but a rod in the hands of Moses parted the red sea. A sling in my hands is just a toy but a sling in David’s hands is a mighty weapon. Five loaves of bread and two fishes in my hands is just enough for breakfast but in Jesus’ hands fed thousands. Nails on my hands to the cross might just cause an injury to me or kill me but in the hands and feet of Jesus brought salvation for the entire world. You see that it all depends on whose hands it is. So, put all of your concerns, agonies, worries, fears, hopes, dreams, families, and relationship in the hands of God because it all depends on whose hands it is. This message is now in your hands, what will you do with it? It all depends on whose hands it is.

WHATSOEVER!

Image
‘And whatsoever you do, in words or in deeds, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him- Colossians 3:17   That word caught my attention while reading that verse recently and still gets my attention every time I read it. The Bible says ‘Whatsoever’ and it really means ‘Whatsoever’ which could also directly mean ‘Anything’.   So using ‘Anything’ in place of ‘Whatsoever’, I guess, we should see the full picture of that verse- ‘And anything you do’.   Wow! Anything I do summates to ‘Everything I do’ actually, which means ‘In everything I do, in words or in deeds, I should do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God..’   Being a practical example of someone who actually just did some things a day before yesterday not in the name of the Lord Jesus or to His glory. I now understand (thanks to His word), that I must not just stop at doing some things to His glory but I must strive (by His grace whi...

DON’T QUIT

Image
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you are trudging seems an uphill, When the funds are too low and debts are high, And you want to smile but instead, you sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don’t quit.   Life is a journey with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out, Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow, You might succeed with another blow.   Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubts, And you can never tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit, It’s when things get worse that you mustn’t quit, Don’t trust the clouds, trust the sunshine. Don’t set your compass by the flash of lightning, Set it by the stars.   Trust the sun, Don’t trust the shadows, Believe in ...
